Normally when dying gray hair, your natural black hair and gray hair are dyed the same color, allowing for thorough coloring of the gray hair. However, as your hair grows, the gray hair at the roots becomes more noticeable. A new technique uses gray hair highlighting bleach to reduce the contrast between black and white hair and deemphasize gray hair. Therefore, even if the gray hair at the roots grows out, it remains unnoticeable.

The big difference between coloring uniformly and highlighting is that the latter does not "dye" your gray hair, but "blurs" it to make it less noticeable.

In either case, coloring products will be necessary to create the fade effect, and for that we highly recommend Gemme Color Shampoo & Treatment. This is “Hair Care 101” for maintaining freshly dyed hair.
